Projects

Nissan Sports Adventure

Grain has again teamed up with Factory Media this time to work on the
Nissan Sports Adventure campaign. Over the next year we will be
producing all of the web video content from all of the Nissan sponsored
snowboard/ski and mountain bike events across the globe. We are
shooting all content in HD on Sony's new XDcams, have an amazing array
of grips and steady cams on each shoot and will be producing all the
content direct from each event by having an edit team on location. We
are stoked with the gig and look forward to producing a tonne of
cutting-edge snowboard, ski and mountain bike coverage throughout the
next year. Check out www.nissan-sportsadventure.com to see our work.

Vagabondz

Vagabondz
is Grain's parody travel show format. We recently completed the pilot
for the series and have since been shopping the project around.
Fantastically there has been a lot of interest and we have now found a
home for the first series. Keep you eyes peeled for the first shows on
air early in summer 08. Check out www.myspace.com/vagabondz to see some exerts from the pilot or click here to see the first 5 minutes of the show.

Water Aid

We have been doing a lot of work with development charity Water Aid throughout 2007 and into 2008. We are working together on a full length documentary film about the progress of a development project to provide clean water and sanitation to 2 areas in Uganda and Tanzania. This project is being shot over 3 years. We have also been working on numerous short documentary features about issues relating to water and sanitation as well as producing promos for Water Aid to highlight the problems linked to the majority of people in the developing world not having access to toilets. The promos can be seen by clicking here. Finally we are going to be working on another documentary following the journey of 2 school kids heading out to Tanzania to see the workings of a development project and see how people live without access to clean water and good sanitation.

Barclays Spaces For Sports

Over the past few months we have been working together with Urb-Orbis and Barclays producing TV and web content about their Spaces for Sports campaign. We have produced several features about sports facilities Barclays have provided ranging from football grounds to BMX tracks and skate parks. The shoots were all lots of fun and some were shot on 16mm. You can check out the BMX edit by clicking here or some of the other edits by looking under the documentary heading on our projector page.

Airwaves Kick Up A Gear

Since April 2007 Grain has been producing the entire online video
content for the new Airwaves campaign "Kick Up A Gear". This
involves us hooking up with various sports fellas and producing a mixture
of short form web content, newstapes and TV programming. We managed to
knock out around 50 clips in the first 4 weeks of the job, which we're
pretty sure we should get medals for. Since then we've produced on
average a couple of clips a week. The pros on the Airwaves team include
England rugby player Lewis Moody, England Cricketer Liam Plunkett, the
Aiwaves Ducati superbike team, Matt Crowhurst the wakeboarder, Edd China the inventor and a
chap who straps jet engines to his street luge. All very exciting stuff.
There may well be a TV series in the brewing on this one too. You can check out some of our edits on the projector page of our website or you can click here to check our edits on the Airwaves site.

Ford SMax

We've teamed up with Factory Media, the publishing company who own most
of the action sports magazines in the UK, to create a series of 6
webvids for the new SMax campaign. All shot on our Z1s and minicams,
the shoots were all one day gigs followed by a one day edit. Fast
turnaround short form web content. Check out the edits by clicking here

Current TV short Docs

Through 2007 we have produced numerous short Doc films for Current TV. We have covered a huge range of subjects with these films such as alcohol abuse, climate change, renting in London, refugees, gun crime and the conflict in Western Sahara to name a few. Many of these films can be seen on our projector page or on our Current TV profile

World Series of Backgammon

In late 2007 we were approached by the World Series Of Backgammon to to produce 4 X 51 minute shows about their UK Masters event. The job was incredibly challenging and there were a lot of late nights and some huge technical challenges to conquer. The shows were made for Eurosport and ESPN. You can check out a promo for the shows by clicking here.

New Balance Promo

In March 07 we produced a promo for running shoe company New Balance. The whole thing was shot on 16mm and was one of our best shoots to date. You can check out the finished piece by clicking here.

Relentless No Half Measures Tours

Over summer 2007 we covered the Relentless No Half Measures Tours. We covered 3 tours, a skate tour, a BMX tour and a wakeboarding tour. From each tour we produced a 30 minute TV show and 7 podcasts. The TV shows are currently airing on Extreme while the podcasts have been distributed to several web video sites including mpora.com, extreme.com and freecaster.com. You can check out some of the podcasts on our projector page under the 'sports' heading.
