About

Denied citizenship, forced from their homes, and subjected to cruelty; we investigate the plight of Myanmar's Rohingya.

the story

In this film, made in early 2017, Al Jazeera Arabic correspondent Salam Hindawi goes to Myanmar to investigate the situation surrounding the Rohingya. During this period, violence against the Rohingya had resulted in thousands being forced to flee across the border into Bangladesh.

Hindawi investigates who’s responsible for the violence, tries to get access to areas of the country which are under military lockdown, and travels to Bangladesh to visit the ever-growing refugee camp.

Developments in 2018

Since this film was made in February 2017, more than 700,000 Rohingya have been displaced and now live in refugee camps in Bangladesh's Cox's Bazar, which shares a border with Myanmar.
